drag and drop

drag and drop is a feature in computer graphical user inerfaces that allows for transfer of files or graphic elements from one destination on a computer to another. an example is copying files or folders from a memory stick to a destination drive on a computer for storage. movement of files or folders may be accomplished en masse using drag and drop.

to use drag and drop, highlight the desired files or folders by pressing and holding the left mouse button. then drag the file or folder to the desired drive on the compter. then release the left mouse button.

drag and drop may also be used in adobe illustrator to apply colors and brushes to objects on the art board.

catia and solidworks offer drang and drop as a way of editing the history trees of models and sketches.

drag and drop is offered in the windows, apple and linux operating systems.
