toggle

a toggle is a two position switch. it has a position one and position two. it may be on or off.

in the windows environment, you may toggle between applications by holding the alt key down then pressing and releasing the tab key.

when this key combination is activated a small dialog box (pictured) will be displayed in the center of the screen. a list of currently active applications will be displayed from which a selection can be made. the name of the application selected appears as well. this will bring the selected application up in the screen.

if your applications are all minimized a selection may still be made at which time the application will be restored to the screen for viewing.

this functionality is also available in macintosh and linux environments as well. in linux use the alt tab combination. in mac use apple option tab.
